How GAI Enhances or Hinders Writing and Reading Comprehension: A Survey
In the realm of education, the integration of technology is revolutionizing the way students learn and teachers instruct. One such technology that has gained significant attention is Artificial Intelligence, specifically in the form of Grammar and AI (GAI) tools that assist students in writing and reading comprehension.
The Grade 11 TVL-ICT students of the NDMC were surveyed to gauge the effectiveness of GAI in their writing and reading comprehension skills. This survey aims to understand how GAI tools impact student engagement, learning outcomes, and overall satisfaction.
In order to obtain accurate results, a questionnaire consisting of twenty thought-provoking questions was designed. The survey covers various dimensions, including the frequency of GAI tool usage, perception of its usefulness, confidence levels, restrictions, advantages, and challenges faced while using GAI tools for writing and reading comprehension.
The questionnaire contains a mix of single-choice, multiple-choice, and open-ended questions, allowing students to express their thoughts and opinions freely. Students are given the opportunity to provide their perspectives on the effectiveness of GAI in improving specific aspects of writing, such as grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, punctuation, and organization. Additionally, they are asked to identify the areas of reading comprehension where GAI tools have been most helpful, including understanding main ideas, identifying supporting details, making inferences, summarizing information, and analyzing text structures.
The survey also delves into the students' experience in using GAI tools and their satisfaction levels with the available options. Furthermore, it examines students' perceptions of GAI's role in replacing human feedback, its potential limitations, and the importance of integrating it into the writing and reading curriculum.
By analyzing the responses obtained from Grade 11 TVL-ICT students, the survey aims to shed light on the impact of GAI tools in enhancing or hindering their writing and reading comprehension. The findings will provide valuable insights to educators, curriculum designers, and developers of GAI tools, enabling them to improve the effectiveness and user experience of these tools in an educational setting.
As education continues to evolve, exploring the potential of GAI in enhancing students' writing and reading comprehension is crucial. This survey aims to contribute to the understanding of how GAI tools can drive student engagement, boost learning outcomes, and improve overall literacy skills.
In conclusion, the survey titled 'Effectiveness of GAI on Grade 11 TVL-ICT Students' Writing and Reading Comprehension' seeks to gather valuable feedback on the impact of GAI tools. The results will empower educators and researchers to further harness the potential of GAI in promoting effective learning environments and equip students with the necessary skills for future success.
To participate in this survey, Grade 11 TVL-ICT students of the NDMC are encouraged to provide their honest thoughts and opinions.
