Consumers play a crucial role in determining the quality of poultry meat. To gain insights into their assessment methods, we conducted a survey titled 'Evaluation of Consumers Assessment Methods of Poultry Meat Quality'.
This survey aims to understand how consumers evaluate the quality of poultry meat, their preferred cuts and cooking methods, factors influencing their purchasing decisions, and their perception of freshness and safety.
The survey consisted of 20 questions, designed as single-choice, multiple-choice, and open-ended. We received valuable feedback from a diverse group of individuals, ranging from poultry enthusiasts to casual consumers.
In terms of consumption frequency, the majority of respondents consumed poultry meat 2-3 times a week. The overall quality ratings were predominantly 'Good' or 'Average', highlighting the room for improvement in the industry.
Factors influencing purchasing decisions included price, quality, brand reputation, nutritional value, ethical considerations, and convenience. Respondents exhibited preferences for cuts and cooking methods such as grilling, baking, and frying.
The freshness of poultry meat was assessed using various methods, including expiration date, appearance, smell, and touch. Country of origin and food safety labels also played a role in decision-making.
Interestingly, an awareness gap was revealed when it came to food additives commonly used in poultry meat. While most participants considered the price important, factors such as color, texture, and packaging also influenced their perception of quality.
In analyzing responses, customer feedback plays a crucial role in understanding consumer expectations and improving the poultry meat industry. Transparency in labeling and packaging is highly desired, and there is a willingness among consumers to pay a premium for certified organic or free-range poultry meat.
In conclusion, our survey 'Evaluation of Consumers Assessment Methods of Poultry Meat Quality' provides valuable insights into how consumers assess the quality of poultry meat. These findings can inform poultry producers and retailers in enhancing their products and meeting customer expectations.
