The Influence of Media on Pretty Privilege: A Research Study
In today's world, the impact of media on our perception of physical appearance cannot be overlooked. The constant bombardment of images of flawless individuals can reinforce the concept of pretty privilege, leading to the marginalization and discrimination of those who do not fit societal beauty standards. To delve deeper into this phenomenon, a research study titled 'How media reinforces the concept of pretty privilege: A research conducted among young men and women in Kerala' was carried out.
The survey aimed to identify how the media portrays physical attractiveness as a privilege, understand if physical appearance privileges some individuals while oppressing others, and explore the concepts of societal beauty standards.
