If you want to send an e-mail to the responder after the end of the survey, you can create it on Startquestion platform in a very simple way. You have to go to the tab „Settings” and then “E-mail after completing” on your Startquestion account. Your message may be a thank you note or confirmation of completion. However, you can include in it, for example, an award for completing a survey (such as a rebate code or an e-book link), the result of the test and its interpretation, or the answers given by the respondent in the questionnaire (if you, for example, keep records for event).
Note: Please remember that this function is available only if the questionnaire has a question about the e-mail address or if the survey has the highest level of security and you send invitations using the „Send to email” option. In the first case, the message is sent to the given address as the answer to the question. In the second case, the message is sent to the same e-mail address to which the survey invitation was sent.
How to configure a confirmation message to complete the survey?
After completing the questionnaire you should select an option: „E-mail after filling in” in the „Settings” tab.
In the “Completion confirmation to e-mail” section which appears, You should configure the following message parameters:
This option defines if messages after filling are sent. For messages to be sent they must have the status „Active”. The default statuette „Inactive”.
- E-mail address source:
With this option, you can decide where the respondent’s address is retrieved, to which a message about completion will be sent. If you have a question about an e-mail address in your survey, you can use the „e-mail address question is the questionnaire” option. If the survey has the highest level of security, you can use the option „the same e-mail address to which the invitation has been sent”.
Note: If your questionnaire does not meet one of the above conditions, you will see only one option.
The ‘From’ option allows you to define which e-mail address will appear as the sender of the configured message. The default sender is: email@example.com. If you use the ‚Display my e-mail address as sender’ function, your e-mail address to which the account is registered will appear in the “From” field, for example: ‚firstname.lastname@example.org via Startquestion.com ‚. If you have integrated your e-mail server with our website these confirmations will be sent from your e-mail address.
The ‘Subject’ field allows you to enter the subject of the message. The default subject is: Survey response confirmation.
At this point you can enter the content of the message that will be sent after filling in the questionnaire to the respondents. You can easily edit this content using the WYSIWYG editor. In addition, in the message body you can use dynamic labels, thanks to which you can personalize sent messages by dynamically inserting content such as:
– answers provided in the survey,
– respondent’s data from labels (in the case of shipment with a token),
– result of the test,
– verification code,
– the title of the survey.
At the end of the message configuration screen there is a message preview window. Thanks to it you can see what your message will look like at the end. Thanks to the option „Use a message template” the message will contain the logo and footer of our website, but of course you can insert any message code.
It’s worth remembering:
- Only the answers, not the content of the question, are inserted dynamically into the message body. If you want to show answers in the e-mail, enter the content of the questions ‘rigidly’ and add a macro to the content of the answer next to it.
- The system for viewing the response inserts the content of responses from the last completed questionnaire. For the purpose of preparing content and testing of such a message with answers provided, we recommend that you first fill in the survey to be able to see in the preview the same as the respondent will see.
