In this article we will try to explain the features available in the Widget Settings section, as well as the Colors section.
The widget settings allow you to adjust the appearance and behavior of the widget to your needs. After you finish adding questions, select Widget Settings (2) in the Settings (1) tab
The following settings are available:
– Header (3).
This option allows you to give a title that will appear on the top bar of the widget. It is worth entering something encouraging to fill in here, eg „Your opinion is important for us” or „Please, complete the questionnaire”
The Internal title of the survey (4) option allows you to give an additional title which won’t be visible to users of the page, and will be visible only to you in the administration panel on your Startquestion account.
– After completion (5)
In this field you can decide what will happen when the user completes the widget.
Thanks to the option: Send notification about completion to the e-mail address, you can decide that after every single completion, a message containing information about this fact will come to the e-mail address provided by you.
The option Generate and display a unique code (6) will allow the respondent to display a unique code, thanks to which you can verify this fulfillment.
– Action after completion (7)
Just like the previous options, these also allow you to define the behavior of the widget after completing the survey.
After selecting the option: Display Thank You page, after completing the survey on the widget, the respondent will see the thank-you screen with the text you defined.
Option: Redirect to external address, allows you to redirect the respondent to any URL address, e.g. to a specific section of your website, etc.
And the last option is: Redirect to the survey. This feature allows you to redirect the respondent to the full survey on our website. Thanks to this, the widget can be used as an invitation to a full survey. You can select the full survey from the drop-down list.
– While completing the survey (8)
Option: Set a random sequence of the pages from the following range, allows you to enable random display of pages. This means that widget pages selected from a given range – thanks to drop-down lists – will be displayed in random order each time. You can also specify capping, which is how many times each user will be able to view the widget. By selecting this option a window will appear in which you enter a specific numerical value.
– Automatic finish of the study (9)
The platform allows you to choose the day on which the study is to be completed. You can specify not only the date, but also the time.
Option: Finish the survey when the limits of completions are reached, will allow you to end the study when the questionnaire is completed by the number of respondents delineated earlier.
– Widget size (10)
This field allows you to define the size of the widget. Options: Automatically adjust the height / width to the displayed content, ensures that the height of the widget will be adjusted to the content automatically, even if different pages will have different length of content. If this option is deselected, it is necessary to set the height rigidly, which means that widgets with more pages will show a scroll bar or empty space below the button.
– Display and Position
In the option: Display (11) you can use the option of hiding the display of the widget on mobile devices. The behavior of the widget (12) allows you to decide whether it should follow the user until it is closed/completed or only displayed on the page where it was initiated.
The tool allows you to set the position of the widget (13). You can use the vertical or horizontal orientation and determine whether it should be on the top, in the middle, on the bottom or on the right. You can also specify at what distance from the edge the widget should be located.
The position of the widget can also be specified as random (14). Then you only need to decide whether it should be displayed vertically or horizontally.
– Widget interface language (15)
Allows you to choose the language in which the widget interface will be displayed. The English language is set as the default. After entering all changes, you can only save them or go straight to collecting results.
The colors of the widget
After you finish adding survey questions, You should choose Colors in the Design tab (1).
The color options allow you to personalize the widget and match it with the colors of your company site or other website on which it will be displayed. You can create your own skin (2) or choose ready design. If you want the widget to have good results, remember to set a contrasting color scheme, not necessarily identical to your website.
Then select the mouse cursor with the color you want to edit in the options: Widget colors (3). You can change the color of the following elements: the background and content of the header, the background and content of the question, the background of the widget, the content of the answer, and the background and content of the button.
After selecting the element, the main color palette (4) will open, which you can use to personalize it.
In this way, you will open a color wheel that allows you to choose from many shades of color. You can choose to enter the selected color in hexadecimal (Hex) format.
